PART TWO. (Go to Part One)

Welcome to Part Two of the Inside-Outside sound/image collaborative project. In this part of the collaboration the same five artists and five composers are making a direct, conscious response to each other’s work. We are calling it The Second Date.

BRIEF EXPLANATION

Unlike Part One (Blind Date) where the curators have paired sound and image together with no input from the participants none of whom knew each other, in Part Two each artist received one composition and each composer one piece of film, to create a new piece of work as a considered response to what they are hearing (if visual artists ) or seeing (if composers).

HERE MOVING IMAGE  IS A RESPONSE TO THE SOUND:

HERE SOUND IS A RESPONSE TO THE MOVING IMAGE:

We are interested in exploring how/if the process and the results differ for each discipline when created in isolation, as opposed to being a response to another discipline. Do both disciplines exist on equal terms to form one collaborative piece of work or perhaps, does one of them appear as being at the service of the other and if so, which and why?
All the participants will meet online ‘in person’ in the next few days after which we will publish a transcript of the meeting here.

We welcome your thoughts and comments on any aspect of this project HERE
